About scenic walks
Expect a climb. Farm scenic walks usually follow farm tracks and fence lines up to a trig, a saddle or a bluff, and the reward is at the top. Distances vary from a twenty-minute stroll to a half-day route on a large station. There is rarely shade, so the time of day matters more than on a bush walk. Hosts will point out boundaries, tell you which paddocks have stock in them and often lend a farm map. On larger properties they may drive you to a starting point and let you walk back.

No. Always ask first. Paddocks hold stock, some have bulls in them, and some country is genuinely dangerous. Hosts will happily show you where to go.

Is it better than a public walking track?
